Tegucigalpa, Jun 22 (Prensa Latina) Child Labor continues expanding in Central America and the Dominican Republic due to governmental indifference, revealed studies published in this capital on Thursday. According to researchers, regional children are mainly working in the agricultural sector, which is the most harmful since it interferes in their education. One of the reports assures that nearly 2.5 million children ranging from 5 to 17 years old are working in Central America and the Caribbean, including 13 countries. That estimate is considerably more when considering activities done in the childrens homes, noted the text. Meanwhile, Hondurass Minister of Work Ricci Moncada said her priority is to end the worst forms of child labor, such as those that imply danger for the children's lives and health and prevent them from attending school.
